U Medvidku has poured beer since 1466 in the same Old Town building. The microbrewery upstairs makes X-Beer 33, the strongest beer ever brewed in the Czech Republic at 12.6% ABV.
Tip: X-Beer 33 is a one-pour experience; do the standard 12-degree alongside.

Vinohradsky Pivovar rebuilt the 1893 Vinohrady brewery in 2014 and pours its own house lagers, ales and seasonals in a glassed-in tap-room above the brewing hall, with garden seating.
Tip: Tour the brewing hall on a Saturday afternoon; the desitka is the keeper.

Strahov Monastery has brewed beer since around 1400. The current brewery on the Castle hill pours its own Sv. Norbert beers, with a Czech kitchen and a quiet courtyard garden.
Tip: The amber is the kitchen's smartest pairing; the dark is sweeter than expected.
