Stay for the festival

Hotels in Salou around 31 October to 2 November 2026, dates pre-filled. Prices and availability open on the partner site.

Editor's tip. It is a family-scale street party as much as a food event, so expect crowds on the promenade; the food stands run alongside the shows all weekend.

Fem el Vermut a Salou ★ 4.0

Centre

Fem el Vermut a Salou is the town's pre-Christmas vermouth route: for about two weeks in December, bars and restaurants pour regional vermouth with a festive tapa from noon to 15:00.

TipThe route runs at lunchtime only, 12:00 to 15:00; around twenty to twenty-five places usually take part, so it is easy to string three or four together.

Sabor Salou Street Food Market ★ 4.3

Centre

Sabor Salou turns Passeig Jaume I into a three-day street food market each May, with 56 stands in 2026 serving tapas, rice dishes, seafood, burgers, sweets, wines and local beers.

TipThe 2026 edition opened with a 20-metre hazelnut and ratafia tiramisu sold at €1 a portion, with the takings going to local charities.

Jornades Gastronòmiques de l'Arròs ★ 4.4

Centre

Salou's rice days, "Per a gustos, els arrossos", put rice at the centre of set menus in 22 restaurants in 2026, the seventh edition, priced from €8.50 tastings to €50 menus.

TipSeveral menus need a minimum of two people and a booking; the organisers publish each restaurant's menu, phone and hours on the AEHT page before it starts.

Festa del Calamar ★ 4.5

Centre

The Festa del Calamar, Salou's squid festival since the 1970s, sends local boats out for a week-long fishing contest from the Club Nàutic, then serves squid to the town on the breakwater.

TipThe popular tasting on the Espigó del Moll cost a symbolic €2 in 2025, the 50th edition; restaurants run squid menus in the Jornades del Calamar alongside.
