A Saturday of chocolate and churros, the covered market, Benidorm's own rice with anchovies and spinach and a pintxo crawl in the old town, then a Sunday market, red prawns at Casa Toni and cocktails on Levante.
Day 1: Saturday: the old town, the market and rice on Poniente
Morning
Chocolate and churros at La Creu Café on Plaza de la Creu, open from 07:00, then a walk down to the covered Mercado Municipal on Carrer del Mercat for the fish and produce stalls before lunch.
Afternoon
Lunch at El Barranco on Poniente beach: order the arroz con boquerones y espinacas, Benidorm's own rice, for two. Walk it off along the promenade to Madness Coffee for a specialty coffee roasted in its own café.
Evening
Back to the old town for pintxos at Pintxos Aurrera on Costera del Hostal and La Tapería Aurrera on Calle Santo Domingo, then finish at La Cava Aragonesa with a tabla of yescas and a glass from its long list.
Day 2: Sunday: Rincón de Loix market, red prawns and ice cream
Morning
The Sunday street market in Rincón de Loix runs from 08:00 to 13:30, with fruit and vegetable stalls among the clothes; brunch afterwards at The Brunch Box on Avenida del Mediterráneo, which serves until 16:00.
Afternoon
Sunday lunch at Casa Toni, open from 13:30: red prawns from the plancha, then arroz del senyoret for the table. Walk to Helados Sirvent on Avenida de Alcoi, scooping in Benidorm since 1954.
Evening
Dinner at Malaspina near Poniente, where the kitchen runs from 19:30 with a rice of the day, then a signature cocktail at Camarote Club on Avenida del Mediterráneo, open until 01:00 on Sunday.

A Wednesday built on the Foietes street market, a long rice lunch at Rice in Finestrat and wine by the glass at Chico Calla, then a Thursday of La Cala pastries, arroz a banda on Poniente and the Benidorm Palace dinner show.
Day 1: Wednesday: Foietes market, Finestrat rice and churros
Morning
Specialty coffee and carrot cake at El Café de Axel on Calle Apolo XI from 08:00, then the Wednesday market at Foietes, 08:00 to 13:30, whose food section sells fruit, vegetables, cured meats, salazones and bread.
Afternoon
Drive up to Rice on the Sierra Cortina estate in Finestrat for lunch, served from 13:00: a grilled red prawn each, then the gamba roja and corvina rice for two. Back in town, churros and porras at Churrería Rafael from 17:00.
Evening
Chico Calla on Calle Tomás Ortuño opens at 20:00 on Wednesday and takes no bookings: more than 30 wines by the glass with tapas from the Marina.
Day 2: Thursday: La Cala pastries, Poniente rice and a show
Morning
Breakfast pastries at Guiomar in La Cala, baked in its own obrador and served from 07:00, then a walk along the full length of Poniente beach towards the old town.
Afternoon
A late lunch at Ongi Etorri Manolo 1, cooking on Poniente since 1968, where the kitchen runs straight through from noon: arroz a banda for two, or the house's Basque-style hake.
Evening
Benidorm Palace stages its dinner show on Thursday: doors at 20:00, dinner at 20:30 and the show at 22:00, with menus from €60 to €110.
