Porto's Christmas market runs in the Jardim de Joao Chagas at the Cordoaria from late November, with stalls of traditional doces, charcutaria, wine and nuts plus crepes and hot chocolate cooked on site.

Samba no Porto takes the Mercado do Bolhao for three days before Carnaval, with pagode and samba from 13:00 to midnight and Brazilian food stalls set up among the fish and grocery counters.
TipThe cup ticket is 3 euros with a kilo of food donated and 5 euros without. Without one you can be turned away once the market fills.
