The Italian Market runs six blocks of South 9th Street through Bella Vista, from Fitzwater to Wharton. Open-air produce stalls set the streetscape, Sarcone's bakes its brick-oven bread, and Di Bruno Bros has run its cheese caves since 1939. It is the oldest continuously operating outdoor market eating in the city.
The full Italian Market (Bella Vista) food guide is still being researched. In the meantime, see the Philadelphia food guide for the places we cover, or the neighbourhood index.
