Diksmuids Boterhuis on Geldmuntstraat has been a Bruges food shop since 1936, with a counter of West Flemish cheeses, farmhouse bread and cured ham.

The Vismarkt in Bruges has sold North Sea fish under its stone colonnades since 1821, with the catch, grey shrimp included, laid out five mornings a week.
Tip: Come Wednesday to Saturday morning. The colonnade itself, built 1821, is worth the walk even off market hours.

On Wednesday morning the Markt in Bruges fills with a food and flower market under the Belfry, with cheese, produce and seasonal farmers' stalls.
