The Bruges Spring Market runs over the Easter weekend across Markt and Burg squares with artisan Belgian chocolate, fresh waffles, regional cheeses and crafts under the medieval-square setting.

Bruges Mussel Festival (Brugse Mosselfeesten) ★ 3.9

The West-Vlaamse Snorrenclub sets up pots of mussels and an oyster bar on the old Vismarkt fish market for a weekend of eating, drinking and brass bands, timed to coincide with Bruges' car free Sunday.

Tip: Entry is €3; Sunday runs 11:00 to 22:00 and is the fuller day, while Saturday opens only from 18:00 with a band.

Festival des Gourmandises ★ 3.8

A gourmet fair in the Jan Garemijnzaal under the Belfry during the Christmas market, where French, Belgian, Italian, Spanish and Greek producers pour champagne and wine and sell cheese, charcuterie and preserves.

Tip: Entry is free with an invitation requested on the organiser's site; it opens at 11:00 on Friday, the quietest day before the weekend market crowds.

(H)eerlijk Brugge ★ 3.8

Stad Brugge's Brugs Food Lab hosts a free family food festival in the Koningin Astridpark, with local producers, tastings and workshops built around sustainable eating, from 11:00 to 17:00.

Focus: Local and sustainable food, farm produce

Tip: It falls on car free Sunday, so come on foot or by bike; the children's discovery trail through the park starts at the entrance stand.

Brugse Meifoor (May Fair) ★ 3.8

Bruges' funfair dates back to a 1200 trade fair and still fills 't Zand and the Koning Albert I park for three weeks each spring, with 90 rides and stalls selling oliebollen, waffles, frites, burgers and seafood.

Tip: The reduced price day is announced on the fair's site (15 May in 2026); the fair closes 13:00 to 17:00 on Ascension Day for the Holy Blood Procession.
