Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade ★ 4.1

Hokkaido's oldest covered shopping arcade since 1873. Seven blocks of cafes, izakaya, sake stands and souvenir food shops in the city's commercial spine.

Tip: Open through dinner; the arcade is the wet-weather walkable alternative to outdoor shopping.

JR Tower Stellar Place ★ 4.0

Go for: Dining, Department-store food, Quick lunches

Tip: Stellar 6F has the easiest pre-train ramen and bakeries; the basement food hall is the souvenir floor.

Sapporo Factory Food Court ★ 3.9

The Sapporo Factory mall on the former brewery site, around 30 restaurants across a five-storey atrium plus a Hokkaido food court on the third floor.
