A two-day route anchored by the Galway Saturday Market, native oysters at Moran's on the Weir, a Michelin lunch at Kai, and a tasting menu dinner at Aniar with natural wines at Darog and Ruibin.
-
Day 1: Saturday: market, oysters, Kai lunch, West End evening
- Morning
- Start at Coffeewerk and Press on Quay Street for a single-origin espresso and a pastry, then walk to the Galway Saturday Market beside St Nicholas Church. Spend an hour at the stalls: Sheridans cheese counter, the smoked salmon table and the sourdough bakers. Buy a small bag of Connacht honey and a loaf to take home.
- Afternoon
- Drive 20km south to Moran's on the Weir in Kilcolgan for Clarenbridge Native oysters from the tidal bed with Guinness. Return to Galway by 2pm for lunch at Kai Restaurant on Sea Road; arrive without a reservation for the lunch sitting (dinner needs booking 2 weeks ahead). Order whatever the farm posted that morning.
- Evening

-
Day 2: Sunday: brunch at Dela, Spanish Arch walk, Aniar tasting menu
- Morning
- Brunch at Dela on Dominick Street at 10am; order the sourdough toast with farm eggs and the dark rye with cultured butter. Walk the Spanish Arch and the Claddagh waterfront after brunch. Stop at McCambridges on Shop Street for deli provisions: Gubbeen, Ardrahan and a bottle of Connacht dry cider.
- Afternoon
- Walk to the Corrib House Tea Rooms on Waterside for an afternoon tea with homemade scones. Spend the afternoon exploring the Latin Quarter and Quay Street before preparing for dinner.
- Evening
- Tasting menu dinner at Aniar on Lower Dominick Street. Book Tuesday to Saturday; reserve the tasting menu online three to four weeks ahead. Ask the team to pair wines from the cellar list, which runs to Galway Bay Brewery beers as well as natural wines.
