The Erzeugermarkt on Frankfurt's Konstablerwache sells only from regional producers, twice a week, with apfelwein poured right beside the farm stalls.

Go for: Regional produce, Apfelwein, Grilled sausage

Tip: Thursday evening runs to 20:00 and turns into an open-air after-work drink; the producers pour their own apfelwein by the glass.

Bornheim's twice-weekly market fills upper Berger Straße in Frankfurt with produce, cheese and flower stalls under the old village clock tower.

Tip: Saturday morning before 11:00 gets the full stall count; finish with coffee on Berger Straße or a Schoppen at Solzer nearby.

The Friday Schillermarkt lines Schillerstraße by the old stock exchange, Frankfurt's banking crowd buying lunch from farm stalls every week.

Tip: Hit it between 12:00 and 14:00 for the full lunch scrum, or after 16:00 when the sellers start dealing on prices.
