Little Atlantique Brewery brews in a converted nineteenth-century oil mill in Bas-Chantenay, Nantes, with a taproom and restaurant attached.

Mashup is the Île de Nantes brewpub of Tête Haute, with glass walls onto the tanks and a kitchen built around local, seasonal produce and world flavours.

Tip: A Sunday brunch runs roughly once a month rather than weekly, so check the date before planning around it.

Les Brassés has combined a microbrewery, bar and grill behind the south station in Nantes since 2016, its beer brewed a kilometre off on Rue Bellier.

Tip: The brewer runs a tour on the first weekend of each month; meat comes off a Josper grill rather than a plancha.

Bubar has brewed on the Île de Nantes since 2015, a brewpub where the fermenting tanks stand in view of the bar and the cave sells to take away.

Tip: House names to look for are Barbasutra and Cuir Moustache; ask what has just been racked rather than reading the board.
