Concert of Colors in July brings international food and free music to Detroit's Midtown. Detroit's biggest free multicultural fair, ethnic food trucks and the DIA central.

Tip: Free admission; food trucks line Woodward outside the DIA. The 2026 edition runs 15 to 19 July.
SeptemberLabor Day weekend, 3 days
Hamtramck Labor Day Festival on Joseph Campau runs the Polish food festival in metro Detroit. Pierogi, kielbasa, golabki, paczki and Polish beer over three days every year.

AugustSecond Sunday of August
Detroit Foodie Fair at Eastern Market Shed 5 brings the city's flavor makers and artisans to Detroit in August. Detroit Vegan runs alongside; admission and parking free.
Focus: Local makers, restaurants, vegan
Tip: Sunday only, 10am to 4pm. Vote for the Best Foodie Find of the year on site.
MayFirst Sunday of May
Detroit Cinco de Mayo Parade and Fiesta runs Mexicantown's biggest food day. The 2.4-mile parade from Patton Park to Clark Park, then block party along West Vernor.

Eastern Market After Dark in September turns the produce market into a night market with food trucks and artists in Detroit. Detroit Month of Design's signature event.
