Phuket City Municipality's Lunar New Year festival closes Old Town streets for three evenings of parades and a City of Gastronomy zone of more than 400 food and drink stalls.

TipThe 2026 edition ran 18:00-23:00 each night; the municipality confirms dates a few weeks ahead, so treat the next edition's days as expected.

The Phuket Lobster Festival, in its 11th year in 2026, spends August promoting the island's GI-certified lobster through a Chalong launch fair and menus at more than 122 restaurants.

Por Tor is Phuket's Hungry Ghost month, when Hokkien shrines in Phuket Town pile tables with roast duck, fruit and hundreds of red ang ku turtle cakes for the returning dead.

TipEach shrine holds its day separately; the main worship day is the 15th of the lunar month, and the fresh market hosts two days of offerings.
