Spring
- Jabuticaba: This dark, grape-like native berry peaks September to November, sold by the crate at the Feira do Varejão da Ceagesp and eaten straight off the skin.
- Pêssego paulista: Sao Paulo state's own peach crop starts in August and grows through September to November, arriving at fruit stalls firm and ready for pies or eating fresh.
- Manga Tommy Atkins e Rosa: Early mango varieties start their run in spring, ahead of the fuller December to January peak, showing up at street markets across the city.
Summer
- Manga: Mango hits full peak from November to January, the fullest and cheapest window of the year at feiras and the Mercado Municipal fruit stalls.
- Lichia: São Paulo state grows about 80 percent of Brazil's lychee crop, harvested December to February and sold heavily around the Christmas and New Year period.
- Vindima em São Roque: Grape harvest along the São Roque wine route, an hour from Sao Paulo, runs January into March, with vineyards opening for picking and treading days.
Autumn
- Caqui: Persimmon season runs March to June, with over half of Brazil's crop grown in São Paulo state orchards around Mogi das Cruzes and the Vale do Paraíba.
- Abóbora: Pumpkin and squash fill market stalls through April and May, the autumn staple behind many a home cook's sopa de abóbora and doce de abóbora.
- Início da safra de laranja: São Paulo's citrus belt starts its orange and Ponkan tangerine harvest in May, the beginning of a season that runs into winter.
Winter
- Pinhão: Araucaria pine nuts peak in June and July, cracked from their shells and roasted or boiled, a Ceagesp market highlight through the cold months.
- Comida de Festa Junina: Pamonha, curau, quentão and paçoca fill June and July street stalls for Festa Junina, corn and peanut dishes tied to the winter harvest.
- Laranja e tangerina Ponkan: Citrus reaches full supply from May through August, with Ponkan tangerines and Baía oranges at their cheapest and sweetest.
