Saint Michael's Farmers Market ★ 4.2

Tip: Runs April through September only. Small parking lot; park on Douglas Ave side streets. Excellent for pre-brunch grocery sourcing before heading to Knox-Henderson restaurants.

Asia Times Square (Plano) ★ 4.3

Tip: 30 minutes from central Dallas in Grand Prairie. Combine with a visit to the Vietnamese restaurant corridor on Parker Rd in Plano for a full afternoon. The supermarket section has ingredients unavailable anywhere else in North Texas.

Fiesta Mart (Oak Cliff) ★ 4.3

Tip: Weekend mornings draw the neighborhood community for fresh tortillas warm off the press. The spice and dried chile section is the best in Dallas for home cooking. Arrive early on Saturdays for the carnitas.

H-E-B's premium specialty grocery concept with an extensive prepared foods section, in-store restaurant, international cheese counter, and artisan bread bakery. The Lovers Lane location is one of the best full-service specialty food stores in Texas.

Tip: The hot bar and prepared food sections are excellent for a quick gourmet lunch. The cheese counter staff are knowledgeable and will guide pairings. Parking garage behind the store.

Good Local Markets (Lakewood Tower) ★ 4.0

Sunday-only Lakewood farmers market at Lakewood Tower operating year-round, with a focused selection of local produce, artisan baked goods, and specialty food makers from across North Texas.

Tip: Runs all year every Sunday morning. A good starting point before Sunday brunch at nearby Mot Hai Ba. The market closes at 1pm sharp.

Parker Road Vietnamese Corridor (Plano) ★ 4.4

The most concentrated Vietnamese grocery, bakery, and restaurant corridor in North Texas, with banh mi shops, pho houses, Vietnamese dessert cafes, and specialty food stores clustered along Parker Rd at Coit.

Tip: Multiple strip malls contain overlapping Vietnamese food options. Begin at Pho Pasteur or a banh mi shop, then explore the grocery stores for supplies. Weekends are most lively.

State Fair of Texas (Fair Park) ★ 4.5

The largest state fair in the country with 200+ food vendors serving deep-fried experiments, Big Tex Choice Award winners, and Texas BBQ. The 24-day run each September makes it the most concentrated food event in Texas.

Tip: Purchase discount tickets in advance. Come on a weekday for shorter queues. The Big Tex Choice Award competition finalists are announced in late August; plan your visit around trying the winning entries.
