A weekend built around the Finnieston seafood strip, a proper Glasgow curry and the cobbled West End, with whisky and Belgian beer along the way.

  1. Day 1: Saturday: Finnieston coffee, seafood and small plates

    Morning
Start with a filter coffee and a pastry at The Steamie on Argyle Street, the Finnieston roaster and cafe, then walk the strip to take in the tenement food row before the lunch crowd arrives.
    Afternoon
Lunch at Crabshakk, the tiny marble-counter seafood bar that helped start the Finnieston boom. Order langoustine and a glass of white, then browse the Argyle Street shops.
    Evening
Dinner at Ox and Finch, sharing five or six of the ever-changing small plates, then finish with a dram at The Ben Nevis, the snug whisky and folk-music bar a few doors along.
  2. Day 2: Sunday: West End brunch, Ashton Lane and a curry

    Morning
Brunch at Kember and Jones on Byres Road, a deli-cafe with its own bakes and roasted coffee, then wander up to the Botanic Gardens and the West End lanes.
    Afternoon
Spend the afternoon around cobbled Ashton Lane and the university quarter, stopping for a Belgian beer in the covered courtyard at Brel before the evening.
    Evening
Dinner at The Ubiquitous Chip on Ashton Lane for its venison haggis, or head to Mother India for a table of home-style Indian sharing dishes.
