Devonport is a Victorian village on Auckland's North Shore, twelve minutes from downtown by ferry. Victoria Road carries the eating and drinking strip, while the Esplanade Hotel anchors the harbour edge with views back across the water to the city. The ferry ride is half the point: lunch here comes with a return crossing built in.
