Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

Method

  1. Combine all ingredients in a mixing bowl and whisk until the sauce is smooth and fully emulsified
  2. Taste and adjust seasoning - the sauce should be simultaneously tangy, slightly sweet, and subtly spicy
  3. Transfer to a sealed container and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavours to develop
  4. Serve as a dipping sauce for fried shrimp, as a salad dressing, or as a condiment for burgers and sandwiches
  5. Store refrigerated and use within 2 weeks
