Live Music in Napa

The Fink ★ 3.6

Bar$downtownTue-Sun 16:00-midnight; Fri-Sat until 01:00

The Fink is the live-music venue at the base of Napa Opera House on Main Street, running the informal music bar that anchors the city's arts district. The programming ranges from local jazz nights to indie bands, and the room fills on Opera House show nights.

Tip: Check the Napa Opera House calendar (napaoperahouse.com) before going: show nights make The Fink busier and more animated than quiet weeknights.

Rooftop Bars in Napa

Sky and Vine Rooftop Bar ★ 3.9

Wine Bar$$$downtownMon-Thu 11:00-22:00; Fri-Sun 11:00-23:00

The rooftop bar at the Archer Hotel runs until 23:00 on weekends, making it the most festive elevated drinking location in downtown Napa. The California wine and cocktail programme is solid, and the views over First Street and the mountains are the real draw on a clear evening.

Tip: Arrive at 18:00-19:00 for the golden-hour light. After dark the rooftop remains animated but the view is the city lights rather than the mountain backdrop.

Late Night Dives in Napa

Cadet Wine and Beer Bar ★ 4.2

Wine Bar$$downtownMon 15:00-22:00; Tue-Thu 15:00-23:00; Fri 14:00-23:00; Sat 12:00-23:00; Sun 12:00-22:00

Cadet is the closest thing Napa city has to a dive bar with good wine: unpretentious atmosphere, long hours on weekends, natural wine poured without ceremony and a regular crowd of local industry and winemakers. The Thursday through Saturday run until 23:00 is the main late-night option in the city.

Tip: The post-22:00 atmosphere at Cadet is the most genuinely local nightlife experience available in Napa. The natural wine section changes weekly.
