Two long editions a year rather than one week: 27 March to 3 May and 25 September to 1 November in 2026, with more than 200 restaurants nationally and set menus booked free through the organiser.
TipBook the fine-dining rooms early in an edition, and check each listing's city: the national list mixes Cape Town and Johannesburg rooms.
28-29 NovFrom ZAR 400Cape TownCape Town restaurant cookingGreen Point
The Taste festival series reaches Cape Town on 28 and 29 November 2026, putting more than 120 dishes from city restaurants under one set of marquees at Green Point Cricket Club.
TipEarly bird entry passes start from R400 on the festival site, so buy ahead rather than leaving it to the weekend itself.
5-6 DecFrom ZAR 400Cape TownCap Classique and ChampagneFranschhoek
South African Cap Classique and imported Champagne are poured on the lawns below the Huguenot Monument on 5 and 6 December 2026, with ten tasting tokens and a keepsake flute per ticket.
TipThe 2025 edition ran in late November and 2026 moved into December, so check the organiser's dates before booking a room in the village.
More than 50 wine estates pour on the Claremont Cricket Club field in Constantia on 25 and 26 April 2026, with 20 tasting tokens, a sparkling wine lane and a fresh food market beside the marquees.
TipTokens cost one to four each depending on the bottle, so start with the sparkling lane before the premium reds eat the whole card.
Its third edition ran 4 and 5 July 2026 at Makers Landing, free to enter, with a fresh fish market, live hake filleting, chef demonstrations and WWF SASSI and Two Oceans Aquarium stands.
TipEntry is free, so come early on the Saturday to see the live hake filleting and the chef demonstrations before the crowds build.
An hour east of Cape Town, Franschhoek marks Bastille Day on 11 and 12 July 2026 with wine and cheese tastings, food stalls, a boules tournament and a best-dressed contest in blue, white and red.
TipTickets are limited and date specific, and the Saturday runs 11:00 to 17:00 with the boules tournament, so pick your day first.
