Ingredients

  • 1 bottle Slovak Frankovka modra from Modra, Pezinok or Svaty Jur
  • Bryndzove halusky or smoked sausage to pair
  • Cool cellar temperature

Method

  1. Pull a Slovak Frankovka modra from the Small Carpathian region.
  2. Decant 30 minutes before serving.
  3. Pour at 16-18 degrees Celsius.
  4. Sip with bryndzove halusky or smoked klobasa for the canonical pairing.

Tip from the editors. Slovak Frankovka pairs best with rich Slovak food; the wine's structure cuts through sheep cheese and smoked sausage.
